Tea Shops in Charlotte, NC?

by geeber1 » Jan 27th, '10, 22:09

My daughter is going to Charlotte, NC this weekend and is looking for a store there specializing in Chinese teas and teaware, something like this store in Portland, OR:

Does anyone here who lives in or near Charlotte know of anyplace?

Thanks!

She actually didn't go because they had a big storm that weekend. I'm sure she will in the future, but we didn't find anything on the internet for tea shops there. Bummer!

This is long overdue, but the best place in Charlotte is actually a spa with a tea shop built into it. Urbana Cityspa and Teabar is the name: urbanatea.com

I found an excellent Yunnan there that surpasses what I had previously bought from Upton. On my next trip I went back and bought eight more ounces.

The up side is that it exists there. The down side is that at least from my last visit, only one person there really knows tea, and that's the co-owner, who is the husband of the woman who owns the spa.
