I have been looking for over 8 months for a dark banko kyusu that's more rugged looking rather than fine and pristine. I have found a few, but they were already sold. I have checked every vendor I know and also ebay. Does anyone have rec's for something I may have missed? If anyone has one they have been "thinking" of selling, PM me.

It is the Gyokko 02. There's only two and it is the pic on the left; it's just under the Red Tokaname collection by Gisui. The Gyokko isn't banko, so that's the only problem with that one for me. What do you think?

I like both of the Gyokko pots you mention. The price is right. Doesn't hurt to have a Tokoname of this size. So I decided on the pot from Hojo (below). Since I found Petr Novak's work, he won me over and the Banko will have to wait!

Very nice congrats! I really need to use mine more, I only tried it about twice and didn't notice much difference.

Do you mean your Banko? Hmmm...If you can't tell a difference, I doubt I could! My effort towards purchasing one was because of the "talk" about how it makes such a difference. Well don't let me discourage you. The one I have was very inexpensive and since I have a large collection I haven't really concentrated on using it. As with yixing, the pot will get better with usage. If your primary focus is Japanese greens, maybe you don't need to explore yixing at all.

I can appreciate that. I have some hagi like that. A few pieces I rarely use. Although I have one lonely yixing, I adore Oolong and Puerh. It's time to expand to at least two more yixing for the ones I frequently use. I'd like to devote a pot to each of my favorites. I've been on a Japanese green kick of late after being without for several months and the cold weather for some reason made my craving for green go wild.
