Glad to hear Barclay is settling in to his new home.
Thanks for the dubious honor, Chip!

We're feeling lucky about Barclay's personality and quickness in learning the rules. :D

Another cup of Red Peach oolong from Silk Road Teas was very enjoyable.

We're pretty stoked about it. Though I was more wrapped up in curling, but shhh, don't tell anyone. I think it's illegal to say something is more exciting than hockey in Canada.

I had gotten some Rooibos blends from Dragonwater teas about two years ago when they did a promo with a free month's trial of their monthly sample program. Those were the most terrible smelling "tea" leaves that I have ever found and were so potently awful, I couldn't even drink the resulting brew. Nothing has come close to the horribleness of those teas.

Currently in my cup is a houji-kukicha that I found in my tea cart while reorganizing it on Friday.

... available now exclusively at Hickory Farms!

TD continued here with Matcha served up in a Jayzo Chawan, enjoyed with Mrs. Chip. Next up, a very old 2008 harvest Fuka from Ryu Mei. This was in cold storage/TeaFridge all this time. I am impressed how well it held up, but do not recommend such long storage of Sencha.

Of some of the bad teas I've had.. mostly it's been Celestial Seasonings herbal teas, none in particular come to mind as especially awful, but they sat, in my cabinet, until the Great Tea Clean-out that happened last month, and I believe I took them all to work. Some might still actually be there, but I know some of them have been consumed.

Wuyi again today, as that's all I brought with me on my trip. Home now, but late enough that I didn't want to make more tea.

My worst tea experience ever was a "chocolate-flavored" tea bag from Stash. UGH. I thought I was going to be sick-- it didn't taste at all like chocolate, more like tea brewed in coffee water.

I had a tea party today, so I drank a whole lot of tea! I started with some chrysanthemum pu-erh, then some lapsang souchong, then I had two cups of Bi Lo Chun. I'm going to finish up the tea day with a pau d'arco tisane, I think.

Lapsang Souchong, hands down. I like the smell of campfires but not, as I learned, the taste of them.

Lowkey tea day today, as I was mostly out and about. Adagio's Oolong #40 hit the spot, though. I have a soft spot for the stuff from when I first started drinking loose leaf. :)

While my first thought was about an Oolong I once had, that tasted like a funeral, I think I'll have to go with a black tea for my worst...

I love black tea. So much so, that I made the horrible decision to get tea one morning at McDonald's.
I know, I know, you don't need to make me feel any dumber.
It was early, and I was tired...

I've learned my lesson.

the worst tea ever was a pu-erh...from a local shop labeled only as "young pu-erh" it was loose shu...the aroma was pretty close to horse manure and it didn´t taste much different from how it smelled but there was the nice addition of a dusty/mildewy flavour profile.

I like Puerh but not that one :?

Worst tea ever (so far) was White Pear. Maybe I'm just not used to the white tea tastes yet, but it tastes like the MN State Fair horse barns smell, wet, stale hay, among other things. But brought me back to reminiscing about living in MN and going to the State Fairs, so that was nice :)

Worst teas I've had (not counting Celestial Seasonings & similar bagged teas) were from Teavana. For some reason, their teas always have an appealing aroma but taste awful when steeped...

Worst ever was a ginseng oolong that came as a sample from an ebay vendor. It fulfilled its purpose though, I never ordered tea from that vendor if that was the best sample he had to send me.

Truly awful stuff.
