I have a basket of that in my cupboard. It is not my every day tea, but I do enjoy it occasionally. It is made by the wo dui method and does have a musty quality. I rinse it at least once before brewing. The first brew will have some of that taste but the second and third brews have a spicy quality that I enjoy. I like it for a change. In fact you inspired me to have some this morning.

I have a basket of 2004 Liu An I bought from Jing Tea Shop a couple of years ago...weird thing is it was green...no wo dui processing...I´ve never seen Liu An like that again...only the wo dui style like what Yunnan Sourcing has.

was it good i mean the price tells me it must not taste good

That´s the price for only a sample not the whole basket
the whole basket is $26.10 which is still not very expensive for 450g of tea but Liu An is usually not expensive until it has many years...it looks fine to me...I´m a bit curious to try it since I really like the green Liu An that I have.

Re: 1999 aged liu An from yunnan sourcing BASKET!!
Tried my first taste of a sample of this tonight, and was surprised by how little there was to it. I didn't weigh it, but after a couple of infusions, it filled about half the 100mL yixing pot. I brewed with water just off the boil, for about 30 seconds per infusion, and it was very like a ripe puerh--more like damp garden soil than what I usually think of when I describe a tea as earthy.

It was definitely not gross, but my overall reaction was pretty neutral, more 'eh'. I will brew it stronger next time, to see if that brings out more flavors.
