Re: Wednesday TeaDay 4/14/10 Oolong, take it or leave it?
I almost forgot! I had a cup of Black Pearl this morning, and have just had a cup of MF's Marco Polo. When GD Alex comes over tonight, I'll let her pick out which Maestro black we'll try first!

Today I´m drinking 2nd Flush Margaret´s Hope hand roll Darjeeling
Lots of whole leaf buds and stems...makes a sweet and gentle infusion with some small fully opened leaves for a bit of extra body

Don't worry about it. I was a joking and joking at Chip. It is rare that Chip lets his guard down enough for a good shot. We have to take every chance we get.Ed, I'm originally from Scotland and called them "English style" teapots--not meaning any disrespect to other countries. Maybe my name in Chip's post caused him to use that term!

Re: Wednesday TeaDay 4/14/10 Oolong, take it or leave it?
Unfortunately, I've never really been able to get into oolong, although I've tried multiple types, greener, oxidized, roasted, etc. I guess I just found it a bit too acidic. However, I absolutely love this blend of oolong, green tea, and jasmine flowers that I picked up in Chinatown a couple months ago, so maybe I'm just odd, heh...
Looseleaf pu-erh right now (very strong to combat the effects of a 4:30 AM fire drill
), probably to be followed by a green or a tisane later.

[Fr]ed[dy] Krueger and I go a ways back. Word to the wise, don't fall asleep on TeaChat lest he haunt your dreams with bitter brews and broken teawares.
Sakura Sencha with Mrs. Chip from O-Cha is currently in the cup. This is light and refreshing, quite umm ... lovely yet casually approachable.
Maybe Oolong shortly ...

I love oolongs, they are my favorite tea and I could drink them everyday. More specifically I like medium roasted wuyi's the most. I've noticed this years tea buying is going to be mostly yancha with some green to break it up a bit.

That and the fukamushi craze that was TeaChat when I first joined! Little did I know...
Almost had an oolong, sooo close, but it was Taiwanese green from a TCer. Brewed up in a Taiwanese Gaiwanesque dragon set.
Re: Wednesday TeaDay 4/14/10 Oolong, take it or leave it?
Oolong frequents my teacup now, but it didn't used to. Can't say I drink it every day, but as I learn more about it I enjoy it more and more!
Gunpowder this morning, Silver Needles this afternoon while cooking dinner, and some vanilla oolong as an after-dinner tea. Also, I'll have to try to take some pics of teaware if it's nice out tomorrow when I get home from work... we'll see if that happens or not.

Re: Wednesday TeaDay 4/14/10 Oolong, take it or leave it?
I have loved oolongs since the first time I tried one. They are my preferred tea, though I do drink others. And while I have had the occasional "bad" oolong, the majority have been wonderful.
Muzha TKY in my cup tonight, again. Only 2oz left and then it is gone forever
If it was still available, I'd go down to the crossroads to sell my soul for another pound of this tea
Yeah, that about sums it up for me to.blairswhitaker wrote: ...As far as a favorite type goes I get into them all, darks, greens, heavy roasts, light roasts, fresh, and aged...

Oolong is perhaps the most lustrous of all kinds of tea, with lots of variation and tradition; I love it dearly, but slightly behind the white and black varieties for me.
I ordered a wuyi Da Hong Pao and Taiwanese Lishan from a shop. Looking forward to picking it up!

Good one, Chip. Though you could have just gone with Eddie Krueger. [and, no, don't start calling me that.]Chip wrote:edkrueger wrote:Don't worry about it. I was a joking and joking at Chip.
