Light will degrade the tea just like it would fade anything with dyes in it. It just doesn't make any sense. Also, I work in a tea store and my job is to inform people about teas so I do know a fair amount of knowledge about teas.
See, here you are making an assumption that is based on a general belief system only. Please show proof for these jars. I am pretty sure that a company with the experience and track record of Adagio would not offer a product that would harm their teas.
Really, what tea store do you work for, since you are using this as a basis for your argument? What is your experience level?
Well Adagio hasn't given enough info to say that they are supposedly "light proof" so I must not assume that they are. That would be silly. And just because they have an awesome record doesn't mean that they won't sell something that will appeal to customers to make money. Let's be real here. I just wanted to here feedback from others.
And as far as where I work. That is private information that I do not need to give out. I have been working in the field for six years and the place is a small shop. It is part of my career, but I am also an artist.
Which is why someone suggested contacting Adagio directly, can we assume you have done so and also reject their answers?
No, I do not think so. You have made an assumption and have not accepted any other possibility offered here. And you have not contacted Adagio and asked directly? Does this sound fair to you?
What if someone made a claim against your small tea shop, and just decided to fire away without even asking the owners, employees?
I have thought about contacting Adagio, but since I do not intend to purchase the product I did not feel that I would waste their time, but maybe I should mention to them to add more info for other people. I do get people who fire away at me all the time at the shop and they still have their opinions and I still have mine. Makes no difference. I do not agree with everything from my tea shop and have questioned them and do not like certain aspects but if I feel something may be wrong then I voice it.

All the more reason to get the facts before attacking the credibility of any vendor ...

Again I want to emphasize, you are basing your attack and argument on "feelings."
but if I feel something may be wrong then I voice it.
Feelings are dangerous ... base allegations on facts which you should obtain before publicly posting on an international tea forum. Since you are in the industry, you should be more cautious in what you state publically.
This is especially important in sharing info either on a forum or with one of your tea customers. I hope if you do not know an answer to a question you do not share your feelings, but excuse yourself and go get the facts.

Eb - I emailed them this morning. This is their reply:
Thanks! We'll check it out- and yes they are UV safe, we designed them that
way so you can see all your tea, and keep them safe. I believe this is
listed on the box, but not on the site- thanks again!
Thank you for your note. Please visit us again soon,

And I also agree, more info on the site would be beneficial ... which I also mentioned in my first post in this topic.

Thanks Geeber.
Yeah, pretty much what I mentioned in my first post in this topic regarding the info on the product box.

(btw, these sunglasses block 100% of UV light)

I like this idea but does anyone know how strong this glass is? Is it the same glass they use for the mugs or are they using a stronger grade of glass?

Thanks. I have two very bad kittens that like to go places they should not. And I am clumsy too but I would love to show off some of my favorite teas

OK, checked them out. They seem pretty durable. A lot of teware is made with much thinner walls than these.
But of course if a cat decided to knock one off a table, well the results would be pretty predictable ...

Just don't take them in the shower, you should be fine.
