very good, though some people may find the processing to be a bit tweaked. It has that characteristic Lao Man'E bitterness, which judging my how my '97 Lao Man'E cke is tasting, will age well. It's pretty pricey, but it's seriously tempting...Bubba_tea wrote:I have one of those for 2007 - but need the 2008!![]()
Has anyone tried this one? Hai Lang Hao * Lao Ban Zhang & Man'E cake from ysllc?

I tried this today. It's decent, potent, bitter, malty, and doesn't quit after 16+ infusions. But Maitre is right that something in the processing of some of the leaf (10% by visual) seems a bit off.Bubba_tea wrote:Has anyone tried this one? Hai Lang Hao * Lao Ban Zhang & Man'E cake from ysllc?
I have one cake I purchased 2nd-hand, and I'll be curious to see what happens as it ages...

In the product description (http://www.yunnansourcing.com/store/pro ... roduct=973) there's a translated quote from Mr. Hai Lang:bearsbearsbears wrote:I tried this today. "In the strainer you might noticesome slightly burnt leaf edges that separate during brewing (Thisattests to its hand-process kill-green process)."
Not sure how true this is though...but for a 2008 tea, I think you could do much worse then this.
