more caffeine!

nothing yet today...I keep from getting too dependant on it because I don´t rely on tea or coffee to wake up...just a glass of water or water and lemon juice. No tea or coffee until after breakfast. Then I drink a few hundred mg in a day right up to bedtime :)

White peony this afternoon.

I don't so much rely on the caffeine - I use it as a pick-me-up sometimes in the afternoon (when work slows down and I start dragging, usually between 3 and 4 when it happens) and it occasionally helps me get going in the morning, but other than that, tea is a beverage and is not used specifically for the caffeine. If I don't have my first tea until after noon but I'm still up at 8am, I don't necessarily notice the lack of caffeine. So I suppose "pleasantly caffeinated but not buzzed" would describe me best most of the time.

Need more caffeine. I've been out of the house since 5am and just got back, and I only had one and a half thermoses of shui xian to keep me going.

[ .. time passes ... ]

Ahhh... Just made a cup of Hibiki-an super-premium sencha and it is hitting the spot.

Here is some food for thought.
Have you folks ever weighed the actual tea when you first opened the packages that they came in? I started doing that recently and I have been surprised by the true net weights, that is the weight that you are paying for (50g, 100g, 1oz, etc...). I will tell you that the teas from unopened packages that I have weighed from Jing, Hou de, O-cha, and Zencha have all been overweight. But one vendor has been consistently either exactly on weight or else slightly under, and that is a slightly annoying -- in fact I am drinking their tea right now.

Have a good TeaDay folks.

I used to be quite sensitive to caffeine in that I would get wired on it quite quickly. After a few years of drinking tea I have joined the group that can drink a quart of black tea and then sleep soundly. Don't know what that is about; maybe the theanine.

Broke with tradition and had boazhong this morning instead of Japanese green.

After giving up coffee completely, I have found I have no real need for caffeine. This was not something I did on purpose, just switched to tea as I learned to appreciate it.

In fact I would not mind if tea did not have any caffeine so I could drink it as much as I want! I do get jittery with too much. I have been doing fine with drinking tea most of the day until around 2pm - but started having issues with the Adagio Maestro Oolongs for some reason. After just a couple of cups would have a noticeable affect. I have cut down on the brew times though and that seems to have fixed that.

Being crazy tonight and having some black pearl. Do not usually drink anything buy herbal this late - but hey it is the weekend! Maybe I can work up a tolerance like some of you lucky ones out there.

Just returning from a beautiful day in Newport Beach. My friend hosted a garden party and everything was just lovely. She even made me tea. Fortunately, I brought my own. Heh.

I could have used more today! I could use more even now! I rarely get caffeine reactions any more except a minor pick me up. I do however get the caffeine withdrawl headache ... even that is not bad anymore.

Began the TD with a top secret sample from Kagoshima. Well, I will say this ... it was a Yutaka Midori, 2010 shincha, a test product for an undisclosed company. It was such a relief to finally have a GOOD sencha after a month of not. Whew.

Next up, I brewed a funky session of Kame Gyokuro with Mrs. Chip in a new/old houjin. I will be resoaking this houjin. I rushed the first soak, only a few hours.

And finishing the TD with Maestro TKY.

And I want MORE!

Caffeine only affects me when I drink massive quantities of strong black coffee-- I haven't had a caffeine rush in ages because I don't drink the coffee at school (it tastes so bad  ). Also, I may have become immune to the effects ever since that one time where I drank so much coffee that I got up from my seat and promptly (involuntarily, heh) sat down on the floor because my legs were shaking so much. I am nicely buzzed right now, but because of the knowledge that I'm almost done with an art project, rather than because of caffeine.

Started with some new shou mei white tea, currently on my second cup of Yunnan, probably going to follow up with some longjing. (Wow, looking back, I've had an exclusively Chinese TeaDay!)

It takes a lot of caffeine to make me feel "buzzed" and thats just how I like it because I don't like caffeine buzzes and wish tea was caffeine free but with the same taste.
