Large Kyusu

by Rainy-Day » Apr 29th, '10, 15:25

I was looking around to buy a large kyusu and am a bit surprised finding only a single example of a ~20oz one. Here it is:

I don't particularly like the look and colour and the steel mesh inside. I looked in all well known japanese online tea shops. Is there no more large kyusus at all!?

I'd like a large one because I usually make sencha 4-5 times a day and I drink it in a few gulps and can't believe it's gone. I want more! At the same time, I often like to brew it and drink while working so I don't want to spend extra time to hang around the kitchen to brew a 2nd / 3rd infusion. I even prefer the taste of single infusion better than using more leaf + multiple infusions for sencha. (although to be fair, it's most likely just a matter of experimenting with quantity / temp).

While I am a fan of small to tiny teapots, I note that the catalog from which I ordered two small beautiful pots has a list of pot size codes in the upper left of some pages that goes up to 1440 mL

So you should be able to find some large and beautiful pots through them.
