Hello all.
I'm Meghann, from Illinois (in the boonies), and I'm new to tea. I recently started exploring loose leaf varieties after deciding to drastically lessen my coffee intake. Something about coffee just doesn't sit well with my body anymore (and I'm only in my 20s). But tea is so much more fun! There is so much to learn, and so many teas to try.
I love reading reviews on here and on steepster, and seeing some of the lovely photos of teaware some artists have taken.
Re: Tea Newbie
Hi! I recently came across TeaChat too. I'm also a tea noob but I'm really enjoying it so far
Thanks for letting me know about steepster, I hadn't come across that one before

Who says Illinois is the boonies! We Midwesterners need to band together. Let the Coastie snobs have their Starbucks--we know where the real action is, eh? Welcome from a sometime drop-in.

Re: Tea Newbie
I started to get more serious about tea when I lived in St Louis, and while I didn't have an abundance of choice of nice loose-leaf tea in local stores, almost everything I'm drinking now, or something very much like it, is available on the internet. And there's surely some pretty fine tea available if you get to Chicago occasionally.

Hi Meghann, pardon the late welcome! I am looking forward to seeing you around the forum!
Re: Tea Newbie
Thanks everyone for the welcoming. I have found a tea place at the O'hare airport, but that is my only venturing so far. Online seems to be the way to go. Although traveling back to my hometown I found some nice tea shops (tea source) and look forward to trying the teas I came home with.

Welcome, Meghann! I've been on here since December and have learned a lot and enjoy it greatly.

Re: Tea Newbie
Well it's nice to visit tea shops, but keep in mind there is a whole internet world out there with, in most cases, even fresher teas. So it no longer really matters where you live, now you can shop quality teas all over the world.msmeghann82 wrote:Thanks everyone for the welcoming.
