Alright. I was sure I was done drinking tea for the day. However, right before I signed off, I noticed that a new tea shop, Infinitea Teahouse, had just opened today. It is a two minute walk from my house. They are open until 1:00 AM on Friday nights. My fiancée and I grabbed our coats, and headed out into the inexplicable May snow.

Tried two different pots of tea: Award Sencha and Milk Oolong (no milk added; named for an incredible creaminess). Both were some of the best I've ever had in an American teahouse. I'll post a more detailed review of the vendor tomorrow.

Actually, I see it's already been added. Time to get to work on reviews and photos.

Even in the middle of a chaotic afternoon clinic, there is always a minute or two to pour more tea from the thermos into my pretty yunomi, enjoy the look and the soft heft of it in my hand, and drink up. It's a moment of ceremony amid the chaos.

Today I very much needed those moments, as morning ran into afternoon without lunch. More An Ji Precious Rare White Tea from Wing Hop Fung this afternoon. Tonight, a different kind of mellow with some Medium roast winter 2009 Ali Shan oolong from norbu, included as a sample when I ordered some of the spring, summer, and fall 2009 for a comparative tasting. Sweet, warm, and in my lovely 'granite' yunomi, even musical.

A TeaChat friend shared some White Rose tea with me (along w/a couple of other teas), and the scent from the tea was so fantastic, I couldn't wait until four o'clock! So, I dug out my best bone china cup, boiled some water to about 175 to 180 F, steeped the silk sachet for about 3 minutes, and had a Tea Experience! Overwhelming rose scent continued from container to steep and beyond. The tea was a pale yellowish liquor, and when it hit my tongue there was a amazing rose taste (though I've never tasted a rose) and a smooth, buttery (or was it velvety) feel on my tongue. A clean feeling, but definitely it remains after each sip.

I did a second steep, and found that there remains the wonderful smooth feeling and rose experience even 20 minutes later (right now). And, unless I'm crazy, it even made my lips feel softer!

By the way, I even bypassed my snack I usually have at four o'clock, because the tea was so awesome I didn't want to ruin the experience. :)

This tea makes me wish I knew more tea "terms" with which to describe it.
Awesome! Anyone care to share where it's from... After hearing this review and Victoria's... I feel like I have to try it!!

Had intentions to brew up something at the restaurant yesterday to get me through my 11-hour workday, but was too busy. Only ended up with the Fujian... but it was AWESOME! Definitely enjoyed it all day - had about 5-6 cups throughout the day.

Sorry to temp you! Unfortunately it's a private stash that my friend in The Netherlands sends me. It is from a day spa which I believe is either in Germany or Belgium. I would love to get my hands on MORE of it!! Lots more. We need a foreign tea correspondent!!

yes virtually every time. Its nothing as elaborate as the tea ceremony but I never just through leaves in a pot and brew them. It seems I always have to pick out what Im craving and use certain cups for different teas and it its oolong or pu erh its gongfu in a gaiwan or yixing. If its green then its brewed in a larger glass teapot and hagi cups are used.

Then theres the ritual snifing of the infused leaves  one of my favorite parts of brewing.
