What are you thoughts on lead poisoning and me dieing instantly from just looking at it?
I emailed the guy (jerry) and he says they dont use lead paint...
What would you guys/girls do?
Thanks for reading, Any advice would be very welcome.

The general consensus in a similar thread is the paint is on the outside so likely not to effect the tea on the inside of the vessel. I actually have not heard of any instances on Lead on JDZ teaware, at least not recent ones.
If you are really worried about it you could purchase lead test strips, or just make sure not to lick your fingers after handling the gaiwan.

Thanks for the response. I'm kind of wondering weather or not I should care
I know these are the same high grade painted gaiwans that DTH sells so I'll email there and see if Gordon knows.

Yeah think I will. Just got a bit "locked on" I guess.

Thanks debunix that's just what I needed.
EDIT: Got an email back from Gordon from DTH as he stocks Gaiwans made by the same people. He said 100% there is no lead used by the warehouse that make these peices. Which is good enough for me

If you later decide you're still a bit worried, and that's detracting from the enjoyment of your tea, you could always send it to me.
