Good thing todays FreeDay.
I'm still on the organic black I started with this morning.
Thats the trouble with big pots,
I can stiff so much tea into it.
It'll be after 10:00pm when I finish.

For my four o'clock cuppa' I had my first Niligris tea, Black Frost, from Simple Leaf. A very smooth tea without a "bite." When I opened the packet, there was a quick whiff of wine, but no taste of that in the brew. I expect to get a couple of steeps out of this.
I like it.

Darn! I was going to send you some Nilgiri. Figured you would like it.
Me and Geeber got that wired if you want some referrals.

I'm just saving all my green tea for my GD. She's returning home after two years in Japan in late July. Her mom and dad are going over for a visit at the end of June for 10 days to travel around with her a bit.

Finished off my Dan Cong from Seven Cups in anticipation of a package from Jing
First tea to drink from the Jing package is Lapsang Souchong. I really like it; the aroma is strong and fantastic and the flavor is well-balanced. Bit too savory to be an everyday tea for me, though.

Thank you for all the well wishes for my father. Very much appreciated.
So far today, all green and all from Japan. Began with Yutaka Midori organic from Yuuki-Cha. And just returned a while ago from Sushi and Genmaicha with AdamMY and Mrs. Chip while showing off some select Hagi pieces. It was nice sharing and putting a face to a TCer.

Re: Thursday FreeDay TeaDay 5/13/10
Today started with a sweet, lovely Fall 2009 Alishan oolong from norbu, had forgotten how lovely this one can be because I left it here at the satellite office a month ago, and this was my first time back to drink it again. So nice. Now drinking green Yunnan Mao Feng, and next will move on to some puerh, just not sure if it will be white bud sheng or yi wu bamboo sheng. Sweet and smoky or sweet and sweet?

Yunnan Noir again all day at work. I'm amazed at the staying power of this tea, it's really become a staple in the house, because it's strong/flavorful enough for my boyfriend too (I can get him to try greens and whites, but he tends to get more "hot water" flavor than tea... ah well, to each his own - at least we can agree on a few!!) Now sipping my first taste of Hojicha - the last of Den's sampler pack. Had been putting off this one until I needed something late evening. And at 10pm, I think this qualifies. Very tasty!

Re: Thursday FreeDay TeaDay 5/13/10
Looks like my earlier reply got eaten by the computer.
Today started with Fall 2009 Alishan oolong, sweet and floral and warm like fresh mown grass; then on to green yunnan mao feng, sweet, with that delicate peachy touch that is almost like a bai mu dan (the effect is enhanced when infused at very low temp like a white tea); and now trying to decide whether to go with some bamboo-finished or white bud puerh, both very nice shengs (and all today from norbu).
Today is my 2nd day of my 2nd trip to this satellite office, and this morning, not being in my usual haunts, had to use a pot to boil the water on the stove, no thermometer, and a simple gaiwan to brew it up. A step back to very basics today.

I was thinking the same thing but I have to re-stock. I don't think you'd want "dust," artmom!Victoria wrote:Darn! I was going to send you some Nilgiri. Figured you would like it.

It's good to hear that there's another potential Nilgiri fan here - I think it's very under-appreciated.
Today was a low volume of tea day, only had some Nilgiri Blue from ToT this morning. We had a "Taco Feed" at my work to raise money for the American Cancer Society Relay for Life, and it seriously cut into my tea time - but it was totally worth it!

I drank much less tea than I thought I was going to today-- everything went wrong with shipping my stuff back to my mother's house for the summer.
Soooo...instead of having an epic TeaDay to celebrate finishing my finals, I only had two cups of chunmee green tea and some rooibos with lavender. I guess the celebratory pu brick session will have to wait until the weekend...
