First Green Tea Order Help

by Kyle Hyde » May 12th, '10, 02:26

I'm looking to buy my first order of green tea tomorrow. I don't have a lot of money, so buying both is not an option. I don't have a lot of experience with green tea, but I do know that I like deep steamed teas. Anyway, I can't decide between o-cha's Kagoshima Sencha Yutaka Midori (http://www.o-cha.com/green-tea/kagoshim ... utaka.html) or o-cha's Fukamushi Sencha Supreme (http://www.o-cha.com/green-tea/fukamushicha.html). Will one of those last longer than the other, i.e. get more steepings than the other? I like that sweet vegetably taste a lot if that makes a difference.

Yutaka Midori gets my vote. But everyone already knew that I bet.

The Fukamushi Supreme is vegetal and I always got 5 steeps out of it. Good stuff!

Both can give you at least 5 steepings or more. The final steepings are like sweet tea water, quite nice.

Which is better will be a matter of personal preference.

lulz, I know but it is pretty darn good. The quality seemed to be a lot more consistent with the Fukamushi Supreme than the Yutaka Midori.

Don't worry, Chip is going to delete this post anyway because it's not 100% flattering to O-Cha

I'd say you can't go wrong with the Yutaka Midori, but don't be afraid to try the Fukamushi Sencha Supreme later, when you're running out of tea and scrape together the money for another order! :P

*counts his pennies*

Kyle, if you end up getting the Fukamushi Supreme, I would be happy to help a brother out and offer you a sample of the shincha Yutaka Midori Kaoru, the new YM from O-Cha.

PM me if interested.
