You can also store unopened bags in the fridge, but away from odors and moisture.
I had tried Rishi's sencha cannisters a few years back and was unimpressed.

But a few weeks ago I was out of tea and bought a can of their Organic Kagoshima Sencha, it was actually very good, for shelf-purchased tea. A bit pricey though, like $14 for 2oz, thought that was with the Whole Foods markup.

But then I picked up their Organic Dragon Well and was quite unimpressed.

That about sums it up for semi-mass market specialty tea. Hit and miss!

I would try ippodo, ito en, or as has been mentioned, o-cha ;)

Exactly my experience: their golden yunnan was terrific, loved their wuyi oolong, and their ancient tree puerh tuo cha was what got me started with puerh, but there were some green and white teas that ranged from just 'eh' to downright awful.
