Just wondering how many of these a moderate user of Matcha goes through in a year.
Thanks-

Re: How long does a Chasen (whisk) last?
With some care in whisking, and drying properly after use, etc., they can easily last more than a year. I have been using the same one for 2 years, and it is still fine.
You generally do not want to scrape the the Chawan with your chasen ... it should glide just above the chawan. This will also prevent scratches to your chawan.

I think my first few tries really got my Chasen beat up, so maybe the first one will last only a month but after that they should last longer.

My 3 dollar chasen (daiso) has lasted 3 years so far. My good wisks are all still in their packing.

I've been using my cheap Chinese made one for about a year and a half. It does have some broken spines, but still works great.

So who can boast the oldest in-use Chasan (assuming it is getting at least moderate use and not sitting unused somewhere)?
