rou gui this morning as I get ready for a camping/hiking trip in tennessee today (around gatlinburg area but not in the city). So everyone have a great week I wont be around until Sunday night.
Brad, you'll be 38 miles from me there in Gatlinburg! Enjoy your hiking/camping in our lovely, old mountains, but watch the bears. They've been hungry this year and are being bolder than usual.
Today's answer is the same as yesterday's. TCers might say Im not but those around me would. Lots of Western style pots and cups; few Eastern, but more all the time.
No tea yet this morning.
yup from me too.,.im just a 30 min drive or so from Gatlinburg!
I would say I am adventurous ..BUT im very frugal in the
actual purchasing department lol!

I voted "yes".
Based on how much varied tea ware I have acquired, and also my continuing interest in all things tea and openness to what I don't know or haven't experienced.
(tho I suppose tea ware addict or " tea-ware-whore" might be more accurate?)
In my cup earlier, well, matcha of course, and now a mixture of j g's.
Cheers!

I said yes, though I debated about for a bit. Beyond teaware aquisitions, the SO involvement is certainly an adventure ... and very rewarding. And sharing the adventure with others is also rewarding.
Speaking of SOs, working on the next one!
Began the TD with Hibiki-an's Shincha Fukamushi ... basically Sae Midori that is from Uji versus Kagoshima. More Uji growers need to offer these more exotic varietals! SwweTea was ready and waiting for a tasting while Gandalf and Shincha stopped by ...

"I might say yes"
I own a few yixing, small gongfu cups, etc. Always open to try new things though.
Also my first hagi piece is currently en route from Japan!!!
Got up early this morning and had a session with the 2010 Gua Feng Zhai from Yunnan Sourcing. This was a free sample, and I don't think the cake is even available yet!
Anyway, this is great stuff! The first few infusions were a very light yellow and tasted of smoky campfire, not unlike Lapsang Souchong. Very different from most young sheng I am used to.
Oh and the leaves are huge.

No,
Iannon, I'd like to have gone to the Townsend Pottery Festival, but I get around on a scooter and find it usually difficult at places like that. Also, if the humidity is high, my oxygen doesn't work too well.

Ending the day with some Shincha. My teaware here is somewhat traditional but modern at the same time, I believe.

So far I've done the leftover session of Tie Guan Yin Grade A from JAS-ETea.com, then 2 steeps of Sencha from SpecialTeas.com. Gotta get rid of the junk sencha before the good O-Cha sencha gets here.

Laura, you are bad for my bank account!

I just got the last one on his etsy site.
Yea,
I'm bad for my bank account sometimes. But you will absolutely not regret it!

For the time being, though, I had to answer "no". My collection amounts to a bunch of really neat mugs and teacups that I've picked up at secondhand and vintage shops.
Pu-erh this morning, in what my friends jokingly call my "Rainbow Brite" mug. (No, it doesn't have her on it, just a gigantic rainbow swirl.)
Here's what you need, Skippy! Then your friends can join in too!

That is an insanely cute tea set!!
Earlier today, I had some longjing in one of the many "Maine libraries are for everyone" mugs that are in my mom's cupboard (she's a librarian at two libraries, so she has literally five or six of these mugs in different color schemes

). Right now, I'm drinking some jasmine sencha in a really neat ukiyo-e printed hexagonal teacup. It's my favorite, but it's been through so many moves that the handle has a crack in the top... >.< Poor, poor teacup...

Thank you nickE and Brandon for coloring our TD!
TD was great ... continued with Sae Midori from O-Cha and then Shincha Traditional from Hibibi-an with Mrs Chip. Finishing with Sakura Sencha from O-Cha.

I did send away to Switzerland and Japan for my few special pieces of teaware, but haven't got a single hagi or serious yixing yet.
So probably not very adventurous.
Quiet TeaDay, only TenRen Pouchong this afternoon.
