Drink cheaper tea, tea plays too important role in my life to cut down on the amount I drink.

Nuuuu the tea budget won´t be cut! I´d sooner fire all the public sector workers and let the highways rot!

Uhm...I´d stop eating out and buying new clothes and stuff but the tea budget would be among the last things to go.

Since my tastes are not as discerning as many of yours, plus I don't drink lots of cups/day, I don't think I'd have to change too much. But Liptons? Never!!

Thanks Seeker for again coloring TD!

I would do a few things ... reduce spending elsewhere, food is optional, right?

I would actually reduce steep sizes! This saves a lot of green. Then I woud include more of the everyday drinkers that are still GOOD. I would still try to get good tea since it offers more steeps and is often the better value anyway.

Great TD, began with an organic shincha ... SweeTea wanted a share but Gandalf and Shincha just wanted to play at the TeaTable.

Next up, Yutaka Midori from O-Cha. Last up, Hibiki-an Fukamushi.

Yep, great TD!

Wow, that's a rough question, I would have a hard time with either!

I guess I would probably do a sort of hybrid-- drink cheaper tea daily but still have some of the good stuff on hand for days when I really need it.

I held a little tea-sampling with a few friends this evening, so it has been a lovely teaday with too many teas to name!

There is no way I could drink less tea/lesser quality, I'd give up food! Would help to get rid of the last 10lbs of pregnancy weight, too! hehe

Had some 2009 Bai Lin Gong Fu from Jing Teashop - it's been sitting unopened since last year. WHY did I wait for so long?

Find cheaper teas which still are good as for taste. How many times I found that a cheaper tea was better than an expensive one. Anyhow even now I can't afford those teas with more than fancy prices. There is a Nouveau Riche factor in some tea prices.

Had Yunnan black for breakfast, wu yi yan cha bing oolong for late morning and will have wei shan mao jian yellow tea in the afternoon. Finishing the night with pu-erh.

Well this kind of hit home with me, going through college with nothing but scholarship money has really reduced my tea spendings. How I've dealt with it is I simply buy a larger quantity of a smaller selection of teas. Hopefully this will change soon though...got an interview thursday :D

kukicha in my cup tonight (notice its cheap)

This situation is kinda one reason why I went into pu's. Really really good sheng is cheaper than equivalents of other types of tea, and they *store*. Even though I got much less tea for my dollar by going all high end, I still have more tea than I can drink for five years! Once I get a few more high grade single mountains, then I will start getting more of the very cheap stuff that's still drinkable young, like Menghai peacocks.

So after all, I don't have to downgrade or drink less when I have pu! Other teas, yeah, so the odd darj goes out, fewer chinese blacks and mostly Assams would get bought.
