What do you add to your tea?

by Lahta » Jun 25th, '10, 11:26

I have some Dragon Pearl jasmine tea and am pretty well schooled on how to brew it. However, I am wondering what is the best way to drink it? What, if anything, do you add to your green tea?

I would boil it for 5 mins and add fresh Mint, and rock sugar. Serve Cold or Hot. Tasty

Hot, don't think I ever added anything to green tea. Cold, that is a different story having added mint, a tad bit of honey, or fruit.

I don't know about dragon pearl jasmine but I always liked adding mint to gunpowder green which is a "pearl like" tea.

Honey eh Chip, thats a good idea. Next time I make masala Im adding a bit of honey to it.

If you boil jasmine tea for 5 mins you will need sugar or mint, because it will be perfumey.

Try a little lower temp for 3 mins only.

Last summer Peets offered an iced drink of jasmine tea mixed with what was essentially limeaid. Except when they occasionally overbrewed the tea, it was delicious.

Jasmine pearls already have jasmine added to the tea...I never add anything more to jasmine scented tea.

I most frequently add water to my tea....

Other than that... Nothing!

Cheers,

I don't drink a tea that needs more than water to be delicious, but sometimes I do add osmanthus blossoms for variety, and for the wonderful synergy I get with Yunnan gold black teas.
