I'd never heard of "descaling" before today. o.o

I just rinse my clay pots with boiling water after and before each use, and hand wash my glazed tea cups and pots with soap and hot water. I'll cheerfully leave oolong leaves in the clay pot overnight if I haven't steeped them out of juice yet.

TD continued with a tasting of Shincha Sencha from Maiko ... then 88 Nights from Maeda-en. Both OTTI shincha.

So three kyusu all lined up and full of soggy leaves. One reason, well the real reason, I do not clean these out til later is so I can drink the latter steeps well into the evening.

Not fanatical on cleaning. For my cups, I rinse with hot water and dry right away. Teapots can have leaves sitting in them all day before I do a rinse clean on them. I often brew up something at home in the morning, then have a second (or third) steep later when I get back from work.

The IngenuiTEA brewer's will get a dishwasher clean every other week. The Den's Kyusus extra clean is just a nice soak each week.

Lots of samples today. An assam sample from Upton's that was quite good, but a bit stronger than I am used to. Then to the OTTI shinca's! Maeda-en Gold today. Very good tea. Then the second half of the YM supreme sample. I think I will buy some of this one :)

Never descale my water pot, just shake out the flakes when they come off. Pots and cups are rinsed with cold water and then dried with a cloth. Strict house roule: :!: never put anything resembling soap near my tea ware.

Had a Yunnan black tea for breakfast and will have shortly 'Wy Yi Yan Cha Bing' oolong.

And now for my Saturday afternoon delight: yellow tea "Wei Shan Mao Jian". Sooo good. :D

Last tea of the day was Camellia Sinensis AliShan. Thinking about brewing up some herbal thing supposed to help me sleep, yeah right.
