Nice tin I think. But only one picture.

So please if someone knows the shop or the tin or knows this kind of tins from somewhere else give me your advice.

thanks
Marco

It's a very pretty cannister - but before purchasing it I would ask the vendor several questions. First of all, you want the tin to have an inner lid to provide additional protection. At that price I would think the inner lid should be metal and not plastic. I bought tins from O-Cha that are similar in appearance and they have plastic inner lids, but cost considerably less. Second question would be - is that design printed on or is the cannister wrapped in special Japanese paper?

Yep, have that canister, complete with plastic inner lid (which is pretty much the norm for Japanese canisters these days). It is BIG compared to similar styled canisters, but is cool. Could easily hold 200 grams or more.

The canister is all metal, no washi paper wrap ... again this is the norm for these curvy rounded off canisters from Japan. A plus of the rounded canisters, it is completely seamless, same as the ones mentioned by JRS22, which are more of a normal size for up to 100 grams.

Overall, I really like the rounded canisters. But I also like the regular washi style too.

I wrote some lines to the vendor and wait for the answer.
Yes the tin is a little high in price I think, but I really like the design and if it has a good quality I'd like to have one or even two. :)

hey Chip
so you've bought it from this shop or did you find it somewhere else?
Is the big size better for white teas, cause they need more volume?
And please tell me - what is "washi style"?

No, picked this up somewhere else. Yeah, white tea would work well with this or any super fluffy tea. The price is high, but it is pretty big. You can get several smaller Japanese canisters for the same price.

Washi is a type of decorative wrap that comes in many patterns and colors. Google washi and canisters ... then have fun!

Many vendors of Japanese tea have them, some let you pick a specific pattern and color ... some you have to allow the vendor to select.
