I was involved in the following tea day exchange...

kymidwife wrote about a particularily busy night of work:
" ... babies out the wazoo here... "

I replied: "Ok, you're the midwife, so I guess now we know the technical term for where babies come from!"

Nobody laughed...so I assumed everybody was sipping tea and didn't want to snork it thru their noses!

My only chance to be funny is if I have a straight man to give me some good openings and there isn't any else around who is quicker on the pick-up than me!

The funniest tea bit I was ever involved in was with my kids (both teens at the time) talking about my little bags of green stuff and how it is all about the pot and no she's not addicted that's what they all say. It went on for about 5 minutes and they had a comeback for everything I said. I was aching from the laughter!

Keep on smiling and sipping,
Dreamer

ROTFL! I missed that one!

I can't remember what I answered, but tend to be the foot-in-mouth type in real life, so I'm sure I've made some... uh, "funnies" on here. Generally, I reread before I hit "submit" so hopefully they are a minimum, although I suspect my posts occassionally have a sharp tone when that's not my intention.

Intentionally funny? Oh yes, to ME. Can't tell you how many times I've written a reply to something, then sat in my little desk chair and giggled and giggled to myself. I may even have, once or twice, told myself "I'm so funny!" Oh well, even if nobody else is laughing, it's good to have self-esteem.

Once my mother-in-law walked into the room and proclaimed, "I made SUCH a BONER at work today!" then proceeded to tell us some goofy little story about how she put her foot in her mouth. My husband and I EXPLODED with laughter, and she felt really good that she finally got to be the comic in the family. Obviously, we were laughing about her opening statement, realizing that she had no clue that it did not mean the same thing anymore. (We didn't enlighten her.) That was about 8 years ago, and it still cracks us up.
