Need help finding cup

by GoTea » Jul 1st, '10, 12:50

Hi, I have gotten to the stage where these small tasting cups are just too small. When I am studying I have to keep pouring from the faircup. I have seen that some people have cups which are still nice and thin but are larger.
Does anyone know where I could get one.

On a different note is it ok if I leave my leaves in my yixing overnight? I want to use them in the morning and If I started the pot at night it seems like a waste.

thx

Or if you are getting towards the end of what the leaves have left to offer, you can always try an overnight brew using cold to room temp water.

A small gaiwan might be a good choice for you.
As in; use the cup for a cup. Not while using it as a gaiwan.
They usually have a nice shape and then you have something
that will do double duty.

Using two gaiwans!

I never would have thought of that

Might be a good solution for my anti-social tea drinking

I've done that a few times. I have some matched gaiwans so the same volume for infusion vessel and drinking vessel. But the yunomis are much nicer to handle.

How about this? It is made of Purple Clay by artist. And it is 550 ml.

That seems much too large. I I drink fro too large a vessel, I dont get a good enough feel of the tea. Victoria, your idea with the gaiwan seems good. How small do gaiwans come?

I was looking at a larger one that probably holds about 12 ounces this weekend, the biggest I've seen in person, and the smallest ones I've seen are part of these travel sets:

the gaiwan there holds just about 45mL.
