All my tea vendor experiences this year have been excellent. My first online tea vendor (Norbu) keeps increasing the range of his wares, so I still buy more from him than anyone else. And I've been bolder checking out the array of offerings at my local shop, Wing Hop Fung, and am getting some better stuff from them as well. A first order from Yuuki-Cha was very smooth, unlike Chip's experience for the OTTI I. One vendor moved up a grade by putting my favorite of their teas online, so I won't have to call and special order it (thank you, theCulturedCup). The only vendor sadness I've had this year was seeing the closing of the TeaHabitat shop followed by what looks like it may be a very long hiatus as an online-only store. But can't really give a poor grade even for that because my first ever online order came quickly and expertly packaged, and I am now the owner of a Chao Zhou Sandy Red Tea Pot that is slightly larger and should better accomodate the dry long leaves of Dan Cong.
Friday's teaday was short on variety, but high on taste scores: one long brewing of the 2006 purple bud sheng puerh from Haiwan, from Norbu, and a more properly gongfu cha'd preparation of the Phoenix Honey Iris Oolong from Wing Hop Fung.

Re: Friday TeaDay 7/2/10 MidTerms, vendor grades?
I was not going to mention Yuuki-Cha, but since my experience was brought up ... I give Yuuki an F, and only because I could not give a LOWER grade. Their conduct and treatment of a paying customer ... that affected many members unknowingly as well (which he knew in advance btw since I mentioned to him sharing through OTTI and the 4 TeaSwap partnerships).debunix wrote:A first order from Yuuki-Cha was very smooth, unlike Chip's experience for the OTTI I.
... completely unprofessional, reprehensible, and borderline criminal. Holding hundreds of dollars of a customer's paypaled cash for 28 days + another 6 with no apparent intent to ship, and failing to reply to repeated, repeated, repeated contacts from me ...
Well, they should not expect any positive comments from me til they contact me directly, apologize, and make things right to my complete satisfaction ... so ... likely never.
Word to members, this vendor does not believe in freedom of speech. One borderline negative comment from you about a Yuuki-Cha product on the pages of this forum could land you in a pergatory imposed by this vendor the likes of which you simply would not believe possible.

Yesterdays teaday was Den´s Houryoku...which definitely justified it´s place as #2 from the OTTI and just before bed red clover tisane
about Yuuki-Cha....this guy must think he´s rich if he doesn´t want your money, Chip
Actually I was thinking ordering from Yuuki-Cha but now too worried he would associate me with tea chat and blackball me too.
Besides what if I do make a good order everything is okay and then give a bad review to one of the teas? uhg!

I guess if he does not want my money, he should say so, but that would require him to reply to my emails ... something he does not do.
But yeah, I would have to assume (since he won't tell me) posting a negative review could indeed get you blackballed.
