Hello everyone!
I'm brand new to the site, so i thought I'd drop an intro. I've only been drinking loose leaf tea a couple of years. My wife bought me an ingenuiTEA for Valentine's Day a couple years back, and I've been sipping a little since then. I recently started drinking more tea, and right before writing this post, I had my first ever white tea--Silver Needle. I was unsure at first, but now it's a definite yum! One of my favorites prior to this has been the Wuyi Oolong, and I've enjoyed some Rooibos as well. I look forward to some good discussions and to learning more about different teas. And please--don't laugh at he n00b too much!
K thx bai!

Re: n00b
Thanks for the welcome, everyone! I just got more tea today; I'm trying the Ti Kuan Yin. Me like!
Here's a question: as I'm new to teas, I've only ordered from Adagio. How do they compare to other tea sellers? Are their teas considered average, above average? So far I like the WuYi, the Silver needle, and now the Ti Kuan Yin. Any suggestions?

Re: n00b
Honestly, Adagio's quality depends on your perception (though overall I'd say average) - it's great for someone who's just starting out, to get a relatively inexpensive feel for different teas, etc., and to someone who's used to drinking tea from teabags, it's great quality! But for a seasoned tea-junkie who buys from smaller vendors who only carry 10-20 teas, it's a slightly lower quality than they would probably prefer. So... yea, about average. But it's great to have so many varieties in one place. What I've been doing so far is checking out different kinds of tea via Adagio, then once I figure out what I like, I find other vendors that narrow their scope to 10-20 teas (usually via TeaChat recommendations) - because those vendors have basically "specialized," their stock tends to be a bit higher quality (please someone correct me if I'm wrong on any of this).spazmat wrote:Here's a question: as I'm new to teas, I've only ordered from Adagio. If you like Silver Needles - try the Snowbud. It's my all-time favorite white so far!!
