did anybody ever try Kokeicha?
I have never seen a tea like this - and I thought I knew the types of Japanese greens yet.
I found this one on Nothing But Tea and it is described as follows:
I instantly had to order itKokeicha translates as 'formed tea', which is exactly what this Japanese speciality is! Matcha is used to make a special dough which is then kneaded and fed through a machine (much like pasta making) and dried which results in the teas uniform green pine needle appearance. The liquor is smooth and light with a good colour and an intense flavour.
First I thought the tea would somehow dissolve in the water - at least with multiple infusions - because it is out of Matcha. But it doesn't.
The brew is green but somehow turbid.
The smell is interesting - can't compare to something else.
And the taste - hmmm - strange and really really great. I love it.
Who knows this tea?
I'd recommend to give it a try
bye
