This is a pretty tough question that would require a good deal of thought that would cut into thoughts about tea and food. However, by the fact that I did think enough about tea today to have 3 teas, yet I did not yet have a meal ... I think FOOD requires more thought for me in order to make it happen. Thus it has not happened. But it does more days than not.

Of course, I love food and love to cook, but you gotta have prioritTEAS.

Hmm, scratch all that twisted logic, I think about TEA more, who needs food?
AdamMY wrote:I qualified this, as time spent thinking about each per each time I have it. So I am not taking into account the fact that I eat 2-3 times a day, while some days (horrible days) I only have tea once.

Unless I am craving a specific tea, I often spend time browsing though my teas for 20-30 minutes, which is more me staring at the respective box I am considering: Puerh, or Non-Puerh, and just trying to have one jump out at me.
Whereas food is much easier for me to decide most of the time.
You will let us know when one actually does jump out at you ... til then you are still sane!

Hi Chip,
I like the prioritTEAS, very clever. If you don't mind my asking, you're not really 100 are you? :)

How old is Mt. Fuji?

OK ... I am not 100.

Let me see, 3 teas today.

*play James Bond music NOW* Began with an "anon" organic sencha that was obtained through covert, black market, underground railroad methods ... I will not be denied. Best of all, it was free thanks to a generous benefactor.

Then a tasting of Moe Green from Zencha with the Mrs. and finishing with O-Cha's YM Classic.

Lots of SLT for tonight ... YAY!!!

Happy birthday, JBaymore!

Definitely tea-- when it comes to food, I either just cook/eat whatever I'm in the mood for (if I'm at home) or whatever limited amount of vegan stuff the cafeteria has (if I'm at school). Tea, on the other hand, takes me a loooooong time to choose, as I have a sizeable stockpile.

Having my first tea of the day just now. :( Three hours of sleep + a ton of errands + going back to sleep for the rest of the afternoon = my tea schedule got all messed up... Anyway, I am right now very happily drinking some pouchong. Ahhhh. 8)

Food wins for me. Over the long-term, I definitely think about food more. I'm the resident chef, so I'm constantly planning meals, cooking, doing prep, searching for new recipes, etc. But most of my food decisions are made in advance: I make the weekly dinner menu on Sundays before going grocery shopping, I tend to cycle between the same few things for breakfast, but have to decide before I leave for work (even if I'm making it at work), and lunch is nearly always prepared in advance to be eaten at work. So food isn't so much a "what do I want right now" thing as it is an advanced planning type of thinking. Tea, on the other hand, if I don't have a strong leaning when I start thinking about it, 2-3 minutes in front of the selections is about all it takes. If I don't know what I want by then, I usually just grab for something. And at work, I only keep 3-4 kinds of tea, so if I don't "just know" what I want, I grab a tin more or less at random.

Yunnan Noir at work, Silver Needles with lunch. Pretty boring TeaDay.

I knew it, I just knew it! Of course my teenage daughter told me that you probably weren't 100, said people just put any age on things like that lol! I did think there was a possibility that you were a very well preserved 100 year old (from drinking all the tea). BTW, what is SLT?

Tell your daughter she is right, I am actually 121, one of the oldest peeps in the world, living in the TeaCave atop Mt Fuji.

"Soggy Leaf Tea," aka the remains of the day. I frequently save the last or later steeps from one or more teas to enjoy at night since it is very low caffeine by this point ... usually 5th or higher steep.

It is more often than not simply hot, sweet tea water, but is enjoyable nevertheless.

Food wins, hands down. Hunger pangs lead to food thoughts, recipe inventions, and taste daydreams. I do read a lot about tea lately, but think more about food.
