2009 menghai "hong yun" aroma
I received this...xiaoxiaobing last month in the mail, and it had a great aroma. now, after having a really small window of storage, the fishy-pondy aroma is very, very strong. I don't know if this is out of the ordinary or not, but I have it out of its wrapper now just sitting in a cabinet and losing that smell. What i wish to know is: did anyone else experience this with the hong yun?

I haven't had the 2009 Hong Yun, just the 2008. I have had it a few times over the past 60+ days and have not experienced any fishpond aromas. My thoughts on 2008 hong yun arehere.bryan_drinks_tea wrote:the fishy-pondy aroma is very, very strong. <snip> did anyone else experience this with the hong yun?

Thanks for the praise, although it's unfortunate that the 2009 might not be as good as the 2008 I reviewed. I hope it manages to return to its former pleasant aromas!bryan_drinks_tea wrote:Thanks, Bears. Actually, that blog was the main reason I made the purchase! lol. good blog, good blog.
