Tahiera you will be hooked - TC has some magic as tea has - enjoy the chado.

Today I opened up Uji Matcha "Toyo Mukashi" from O-cha - delicious start in the morning :) Now there is Den's Premium Gyokuro Suimei in my cup - for the first time too. So today is a day of new teas :)
Wish you all a pleasant Sunday.

Will our online tea community be the same by year's end?
Doubtful.

Nice shot Brandon. Well the thing about change, it always changes.
So who knows. All I know for sure is there will be tea.

This morning DYL from Hou De.

Have a nice day everyone!

Granddaughter Samantha Lyn no longer mythical at all! She and GD Alex came over last night for our long-awaited 26 month Welcome Home Tea Session! They chose MF's Marco Polo, to my surprise. :D It was great to see the 26 year old and 13 year old cousins chatting about tea, fashions, Japan, horseback riding, Japan, etc., and sipping tea with me. I am blessed.

Samantha was overwhelmed to see how many green teas I have; well, actually, how many teas period. We are already planning tastings. :)

Thanks for the photo, Brandon, and the somewhat cryptic message!

Pictures or she does not exist. We are anxious to see some serious GREEN tea drinking! Will Alex come to the TeaTable???
Tahiera wrote:Chip, you asked before what I'd been drinking and the sad answer is "not tea". My kettle died and I found this forum while researching a new one. My old kettle did no more than boil water, but now I have a Pino Pro and a GraviTEA on the way. So I picked "major changes" because I'm sure that will make a big difference, especially since I mainly drink green tea and won't have to guess at the temperature anymore. And reading the forum makes me want to try different kinds of tea.
Out with the old, and in with the new ... and hopefully better!

What greens do you drink?

Began the TD with Yutaka Midori from O-Cha served up in Hagi SO #1, Sea Cuke Guinomi! SweeTea was predictably present and Li'l Bit made a long absent return to the TeaTable ... perhaps like the mythical GD!

Chip wrote:Interesting on both points. I actually expect OTTIs to change my tea selection as well over the second half of the year!!!

I also expect to see Chinese greens making a resurgence in my personal selections. I also expect that this will enhance the enjoyment of Japanese greens!
This is good news for me - I look forward to more OTTIs - Japanese, Chinese, whatever - as well as learning from your experience with Chinese Greens.

In my cup this morning - Zencha Moe, the last of the OTTI Shincha, and GTL Adam's Peak, the last of the OTTI Silver Needles - not in the same cup of course!

Very interesting post Brandon! :D

Started today with a sampling of the Xiaguan FT #4 from 2007. Very nice, I'd heard good things about it and was not disappointed. Leather, tobacco, very sweet.

Next up is going to be an OTTI Shincha. Most likely Rishi's SM :!:

Today's been a rather depressing TeaDay. Woke up, heated water, set out tea and cup, and forgot about it. Came back to it 20 mins later and heated water again. Poured, got distracted, and let it steep too long. Got way too bitter (I just had to want green tea this morning... white tea and the 5-6 mins would have been fine *sigh*). Threw that tea out, went to the store, came back, ate lunch and heated up more water, prepared fresh tea, sat down, ate lunch, had 1 cup. Refilled tea while starting to make bread, rushed the end of bread-making and left the house to go see a show (I do so miss live theatre - I haven't actually been involved in a show in over 8 months). Came back and, lo and behold, 3 hours had completely cooled my tea. Heated up still more water, got fresh tea, and finally had a good cup, then made 3 more loaves of bread...

Yea, it's been a long, relatively tea-less day.
