Mango Tea suggestions

by Flora » Jul 1st 10 3:41 pm

Hey there...I've recently received some Mango tea and haven't tried it yet. I was looking for some feedback from anyone that has. Is it too strong to drink on it's own? Do you think it would be good if I mixed it with a different tea such as a green or white tea? Thanks in advance for anyone's comments. peace...

Hi Flora,

Mango tea shouldn't be too strong on it's own, but it all depends on you. If it's too strong you can use less leaves and steep it for less time. It's all about finding what works for you :)

... or get some Ceylon leaf or green or white and a mango! That would be really refreshing iced on a HOT Summer day. That would not be too strong!

What type of tea is it? Mango black tea, mango green tea, etc.

Thanks so much for the suggestions! It's the Mango that's sold on Adagio, I'm pretty sure it has ceylon along with Mango flavor. I'll definately try it mixed with some white tea, sounds good..thanks Chip. I'm pretty new to such a big variety of tea (I've got about 15 sample tins at home) and haven't really done too much mixing, other than adding some Jasmine to other teas, so I wasn't sure if Mango would be ok mixed with another type of tea...I'll be trying it out soon for sure. Thanks all....

If it's Adagio's, I wouldn't recommend mixing it with white - the ceylon will overtake the flavor of the white. It's not an overwhelming flavor, from what I remember from my sample tin. I haven't found any of their flavors to be too overpowering. Just watch the time on the steep - flavored black tends to get bitter fast, at least for me.

I too haven't found the mango flavor to be too overpowering (I received a sample tin too, yay!) but the smell is very strong. The mango tea smells very strongly of candy. I have been mixing it with the strawberry tea sampler I also received.

I just looked at my mango sample this morning and thought about this very thing, since I'm not a big fan of mangos, what to do with it? I really like the black strawberry tea on its own but may mix the mango with it to see how it tastes. :)
