Hello

by TeaHoney » Aug 4th, '10, 19:38

Hello. I'm new to TeaChat. I'm from Southern California, a wife and a mommy. I love all things tea-related. It started when I was young. My mother and grandmother were big tea drinkers and growing up around it....you eventually jump right in.

My favorites are Moroccan Mint and Orange Spice. My dream is to one day own a tea room. :D I'm almost there....

Welcome to TeaChat!

Living in southern California, we have some significant advantages vs a lot of folks on TeaChat, because we've got some excellent local tea shops in addition to the online resources that are available to all. You can get inexpensive to fancy chinese teas & teawares at Wing Hop Fung and Ten Ren, Korean teas & fabulous ceramics from Chansaengwon in Koreatown, and there are quite a few more that I've heard of but haven't made a trip to yet.

Thank you very much for the warm welcome. I've actually never made it down to Koreatown, but I bet it would be really great to go through some of their shops. I'm really looking forward to broading my horizons with tea. I also picked up a book called 20,000 Secrets of Tea a few days ago.

The other day I was at the Huntington Library in San Marino. Beautiful gardens. Absolutely stunning. And they have this adorable Tea Room in the middle of their Rose Garden. Unlimited tea, scones, pastries, finger sandwiches and so forth. I was in love! It was so sweet...
