Given how beautifully you packed the samples we swapped, I expected that!

I figured you would!

Between you, me, and artmom, we should have enough to last until the seeds sprout!

I'm going thru the stores I found and sipping matcha.
Then I'm going to visit everyone else and see what all we've got.
Then maybe a tea & therapy group session to process the trauma of our situation.
Then I think I'll help John with the kiln and clay.
Oh yes, and visit to Laura for some yummy chow.

That's the goal!
Though right now I'm actually cooking up something not involving tea... might have to change this later, but I had fresh figs and needed to use some of them up! Sipping on some Four Season Spring Oolong while waiting for fig-bread to be finished!

Well, I've been kind of considering doing a tea recipe. Maybe I should get on the ball. I've been really into making bread for the past month or so.

Try both at once! Tea-bread is fantastic if you can find the right recipe to incorporate it into (find something that calls for water - substitute tea)

How much tea flavor survives baking? and would you do this with black tea? green tea? long-rising yeast bread, or a quickbread?

I voted for myself

After all the excitement of abandoning ship a nice brewing of Rou gui would hit the spot. Im glad I brought lots to share in case were stranded a long time. After tea I would help geeber plant some seeds.
and wow tea bread sounds delicious

A fair bit of flavor survives, though you are adding it in to something else, so the flavor isn't overly strong to begin with (nothing calls for enough water to make it that strong). I don't tend to drink green tea, so it's not around enough to cook with - though I have made matcha cookies. I've only used tea once in a yeast bread, I need to do that again, as I don't honestly remember the results; I mostly do quickbreads or muffins (box mix is wonderful - I recently used Adagio's Oriental Spice with a chocolate chip muffin mix, and it turned out fantastic! A bit of spice, a bit of tea, and chocolate - what more could you want?)
Next time I do one, I'll post the results!
