My tea time is not particularly ceremonious, structured, routine, revolutionary, or too short; it has been everything else on the list at one time or another.

This afternoon it was too short, and I rushed a really fine light 'green' Huang Jin Gui oolong; this evening I am hoping for focused, but anticipating casual and fun as I brew up some green tea to go with paperwork....but wait....an unexpected turn: the green tea was swept aside by some Shi Tou Xin Jai loose sheng Mao Cha from Norbu, leaping into my hands, saying, drink me! Exciting, even.

Started my teaday with Fuga super premium from Zencha and then matcha from a local shop :)

I don´t have proper matcha gear yet so the consistency is off (I was eating lumps from the bottom of the cup with a spoon   ) but it´s tasty :)

Still I will be happy when my whisk arrives from Japan :)

My tea time varies with each session. Sometimes it is very ceremonial and structured, and other times it is casual and relaxed. My favorite tea times are generally the ones I have at work. For a few minutes the world stops and there is just me and my tea. It's wonderful how tea can make the world just fade away for a time. I can be having the worst day and all of the sudden, for a few minutes, it doesn't matter.

Couldn't have said it better. :) The quality of my sessions vary wildly, but even subpar sessions can end up being quite enjoyable.

Introspective, exciting, casual, fun, gratifying, routine, & evolutionary.
It is any number of these depending on the day.
I believe my chanoyu is evolving, albeit slowly, incrementally.
Cheers.
