Hi all,
I only discovered this wonderful forum a week ago and quickly decided that I should join in the fun!
I've been drinking tea all my life but only started to take it seriously, a part of a long chain of taking several other important things seriously, tea being the latest. This includes classical music, chocolates, food (in particular, French, Japanese and Chinese) and now tea! I'm just amazed at the artistry of teadom and I'm now spending the bulk of my webtime looking at tea related stuffs.
Wish I started earlier!

Re: Greetings from Chicago!
for the longest while i drank mainly english teas (earl grey and good quality darjeeling) but i recently started exploring chinese teas more carefully (i'm Chinese but my first language is English and i grew up in an ex-english colony and for a long while my cultural slant was more western than Chinese but i'm trying to aim for a more balanced/confused identity!
). It doesn't hurt that i discovered a cute but poorly made gaiwan tea set in my mom's storeroom! sadly it isn't here with me in Chicago.
recently i went to japan so i obtained a pretty decent chawan and have been drinking quite a bit of matcha (the kind lady gave me a free sample though it isn't very good - but then i suck with the whisk anyhow).
and most recently, my housemate has left for a different state and has left behind a treasurehouse of good tea! some biluochun and longjing (she tells me they are excellent). i also have my own store of TGY.
i think generally i tend toward more fragrant teas. i like smells!

I'm sorry, I don't know where it came from. If you could show me the markings on the bottom, I might be able to find out for you though.
I love my first set too. I still keep it and use it on occasion.
