Hello!
After lurking around these forums for a little while I thought I would finally create an account. My name is Kyle and although I've been drinking tea for a while I would still consider myself a newbie. My favorite tea is green tea, specifically Japanese green tea, which makes up the majority of the tea that I drink. Anyway, this seems like a great place to learn more about tea.

Re: Hello!
Welcome! I'm enjoying some sencha right now, as it happens. Had a cup all ready to go this morning, then due to circumstances beyond my control couldn't finish the brewing. So making do now, and my Sayamakaori is lovely.
Lots of sencha drinkers here with good advice....you might start with a dive into this topicabout what type of sencha you prefer.

Re: Hello!
Thanks for the warm welcome everyone! Anyway, I feel I need to clarify what I mean by newbie. It's probably taboo to admit this on this forum but I still drink from teabags (usually the Ito En sencha/matcha blend from Costco). I'm just a student so I don't have the resources to purchase fancy teas online. I do have a utiliTEA, though, which at least helps me get the right temperature (and it is very quick and doesn't take up much space). However, I plan on buying an ingenuiTEA one of these days to make loose leaf tea a more viable option for myself. And that's where this forum comes in, as I would like to learn more about real tea.

Re: Hello!
No, I ride a hybrid bike, but I would love to get a roadie. My bike is great as a way to transport myself from point A to point B, but I don't do too much long distance on it. I bought it mainly to ride around town with as an alternative to driving.
I love bikes. They are fun to ride, ecologically responsible, and great exercise.

except I am an ex-roadie with a very expensive bike sitting in the garage. It's our rainy season and I've not ridden in quite some time because I switched training modalities and specificity is a real pain in the butt! My endurance went from hero to zero since I've stopped riding. My power output has increased, but without the stamina to sustain it, I'm not very useful on my bike. I'm hoping to gradually switch back into cycling when our summer ends..although, it's always summer here in South Florida.

Re: Hello!
Welcome to the forum, I've a new hybrid too.
I won't be using it during the winter here in Delaware.
In another month it's going into storage.

Re: Hello!
Welcome to the group! I'm a newbie here too. I recently got the IngenuiTEA and I love it! I've been having fun buying samples of various loose teas and discovering what I like. So far Yunnan Gold and Darjeeling #2 top the list.
Enjoy your journey!
