All I can say is I know people who came from mainland China but when they return there and purchase tea or teaware, they take a friend with them who lives in the area so they don't get ripped off.

Jing Tea Shop in is Guangzhou. There is another that post on ebay but can't remember the name. Guangzhou should be full of tea shops. It's the biggest tea market in China. Try to stick with buying tea and not tea pots. Ask locals where the best tea shops are. Always ask for a better price. Most importantly, bring a beautiful Chinese girl with you. :D

Thx for both your input, it a very good information to me. according to "Tead Off", try to stick with buying tea and not tea pots? but i do need to purchase a good zisha tea pot and some nice cake for brewing. for pu-erh cake, i would go for dayi shop. for zisha pot, i'v totally got no idea which shop to start from. would try to test it with water for pouring/ water stop/ and leak dripping. oso need to get a tea tray and table and some zisha cups for the new pot. .

cheers!

Email Jing Tea Shop and tell them you are coming. Then, let things develop from there.

I'm not very familiar with the geography of China but I am familiar with Jing Tea Shop. If they're in that area I agree you should visit them if possible. Most of my Yixings that I actually use on a regular basis came from this vendor. So did some very good green teas.

million of thx for all your input here. i'd lucky enuff yesterday tht i actually found the tea market exact location using google search and google map. =)
will try my very best not to pick up a fake zisha pot tht contain lead or other material tht can harm.
IF only i could get any info on which trusted shop to get zisha pot, it would be a very big bonus instead of round round with not much idea...

I'm pretty sure they don't have an actual "shop", though if you email them, they may be willing to show you places in the big tea market (Fangcun) which are trustworthy.

to be more specific, maybe i need to be clear of which artist and design to go for.

any recommendation of which artist for starter? a pot serve for 4 person would be best for me. budget RMB600~RMB800 (USD90~120).

Warhol is always good for starters. :D

I don't want to seem negative but you are not going to know what you are looking at so how will you evaluate these teapots? It takes a lot of time looking at yixing to begin to understand this world. If you still have to buy something, buy something inexpensive that you like the look and feel of. Most people work with trusted vendors in this field. There are more tricks than you can imagine in this world. They'll be waiting for you with open arms.
