I fenced Epee through 3 years of College, and got half way decent at it, no where near A or B ranked, but I almost earned an E rating or what ever the lowest USFA ranking is, above Unranked.
Hi Adam.
Back in college, 1984-ish, After a few semesters of fencing class, I was asked to join the team, and I fenced épée. Unfortunately, very shortly my NCAA eligibility was denied, and I was not allowed to fence for the team. I was totally heartbroken and depressed as that was the first sport I found that I truly loved. I haven't fenced since, except at the occasional Renaissance faire fencing booth. Interestingly, this past Sunday, my sweetie and i went to faire, i fenced, and was told about a class/club right near me -- so i went for the first time last night. I intend to continue! Fun, fun! (and sore, sore!)
Oh also, since my fencing 'career' was cut short, i never got a rating, and have everything to learn about all that.
Thanks for asking.
I salute you, fellow épée fencer!
Cheers.

I chopped Upton's Golden Monkey. It's been sitting there for a year and a half taking up space, but not any more!

Jing's 2009 seasonal dhp this morning and hibiki-an's pinnacle sencha this afternoon.

teaday today started with O-Cha´s genmaicha with matcha before class then davidstea matcha matsu after dinner....I made the matcha with a bit less water than I normally do to make it closer to normal thin tea...it really tasted more concentrated

I moved from the US to South Korea in the end of August, and didn't move into my new apartment until early September, so I brought with me only a few teas and teaware. Essentially I've had to "chop" a lot of teas this month. I've yet to pick up a snazzy new 3 temperature water dispenser, so I've been cold brewing pitchers, mostly.

I brought with me a tin of ti kuan yin, sow mee, banana hazelnut flavored black tea, jasmine pearls, a sencha, white chai, green chai, matcha, and berry flavored oolong. I also brought a sample of mixed black teas (for HK milk tea) and genmai cha, but they've both been drunk already. I didn't bring any herbal tisanes, thinking I wouldn't miss them or need them, but, then, of course, last week I caught a cold and was craving a lemon-y cure.

For teaware I brought only my kyusu, an infuser mug, and my most fragile pieces I was too afraid to ship (two chawan and two cups). I can't wait until I'm reunited with all my teaware. :( And I can't wait for my first paycheck so I can restock on tea. :)

It's not. :) And I cannot wait to check out the local tea houses as well. :) I foresee many tea-related purchases in the future.
