Tigo Infuser Mug?

by jenko23 » Oct 4th, '10, 11:57

I was wondering what you guys thought of this. I just bought it online, and was rather put out by it's tiny size - 10oz, and it's design is pretty slim and sleek, so it looks rather pathetic when I compare it to my old travel mug. The thing about Tigo is that you can't take the tea leaves out after steeping- they stay at the bottom of the mug, and there's like a lid with holes at the top of the mug to keep the leaves from going into your mouth. I know theres a set amount of time you're supposed to steep leaves to keep it from being bitter, but I also read that the chinese would keep the leaves in the teapot or cup so they could reuse them. Which one is right and what do you think about the mug?

some teas get bitter when oversteeped, some don't

Usually the ones that stay less bitter with long infusions are larger shaped chinese greens and good balled oolongs,... and puerh of course

I think they are assuming you are going to drink it down rather quickly. And use cooler water. Since you have already bought it, there's not much to say. Try it and see how you like it.
