I'm six days shy of celebrating my first full month as a novice tea drinker and already I've placed three tea orders. I've got to slow down!

And the fun begins! It is common to want to try everything right away, which simply cannot be done since there are thousands of teas, and thousands of variations of thousands of teas ... not to mention blends and flavors, etc.. But trying to pace oneself, well, can that be done?

The number of orders has likely increased since I am even more actively trying more teas for tastings such as OTTI, etc ... however it is pretty controlled.

It is not much of an increase, and is much less than 4-5 years ago when it was much less controlled.
Began the TD with a prelim tasting of a possible OTTI sencha, Shuppin sencha from Maiko which is a blend of exhibition grade asamushi-cha. The first steep was really rich and full of umami.
Pretty exciting tasting this sencha. SweeTea was equally impressed while observers Pyrit and Shincha were lap top on a chilly morn.

I think my orders have increased this year, but only by a bit.
Matcha, and now ancient moonlight white.

Placing less orders ... but drinking more tea.
I have gotten a hold of my over zealous tea purchasing and figured out how much I can buy without it going to waste.

bottom of the bag everyday sencha from O-cha...even brewed with hotter water than normal it tastes really flat...I think I didn´t save enough leaf for the last brew.

It really had a lot of kick to it when it was new though.
Must make another sencha order soon!
I need to decide what to order from where first though...

Probably fewer because I went a little crazy when I first started drinking tea.

They were all relatively small orders, though.
Classic Roast from the Tea Gallery, 6 excellent infusions!

I have been making more tea orders that last year, mainly because of sample orders to try new things. I am thinking it may be time to slow down on that and sit back and enjoy what I have already discovered for a bit though. I have not had any sencha in 4 days! Will need to remedy that tomorrow

About the same-- that is to say, only making 1 or 2 orders this year.

(I get most of my tea in Chinatown.)
Rose congou this afternoon, followed by a loooooot of iced green tea (very intense workout, enough said

). Right now I'm drinking a pau d'arco tisane.
