Supreme grade TGY

Well, the premium sample was way better than the supreme one (in my palate, other might enjoy more the supreme).

So I will stick to premium, but this may vary again from batch to batch.

I am not too keen of roasted oolongs; prefer greener ones.

ABx, I haven't tried light roasted Taiwanese oolongs recently...can't remember what I had when I use to live in Taipei, so if I like green TGY would I like light roasted Taiwanese high mountain stuff?

BTW ... OTTI #6 will be a group of 5 TGY of varying grades all the way up to a supreme grade, all from one vendor ... should be fun. "Seating" will be limited!

Reading this topic made me order some Shen Yun TGY from Teaspring, that tea is one of the best sofar I have tried, and later I will order the two new ones from Jing teashop, I have tried a lot of TGY, if it is well made it is a wonderfull oolong, it combines great mouthfeel, Hon YUn, silky texture, Hui Gan, you can feel it in you breath, it is gernerally very aromatic the scent is simply charming, unparalelled fragrance.

I wish the market could look at other things rather then simplistic and impermanent trends such as taste and flavour. If they start to emphasise more on the health and soothing benefits, then profit wouldn't be so overtly dominant.

TGY is nice as it is already: flowers and butter. Who cares about the extra detail.

When talking about the diffrences in TGY, first it must be the real agrotype, some cheaper versions use diffrent tea bushes and sell it as TGY, or they blend the real one with diffrent bushes, the other thing is that it has no stems, no leaf system, just leaves with stems taken off and tips taken off manually, and the leaf has "teeth", and finally if the tea is grown with care it has a good silky mouthfeel, and great hui gan (aftertaste), you can feel it in your breath, Shen Yun TGY has all this, and some other shops sell high quality examples of TGY.

I got some TGY from a UK vendor. It was about £11 for 50grams. Individually wrapped in 8gram vacuum bags.

Its literally the best oolong I've tried (I am a noob and I know its not ultra grade). I've been spending half that in the past on my oolong and getting something which isnt even a fraction of this oolong.

I'm getting around 10 brews out of it. 8 really amazing ones. And its so sweet and flavoursome that its making my budget high mountain oolongs taste empty and flat. Definitely upping my budget for tea.....well actually I dont need to. The cheap teas I've been buying only last around 4 brews so its working out the same....I'm just getting nicer tea.

Yeah thats the one. I just bought some of there highest grade as well but I'm yet to bust it open. Good company. They seem to take a couple of days to dispatch but its really nicest packaged.

Their highest quality looks kind of roasted....I like the way the jiu jiu jiu one looks better....have you compared tastes?
