In another thread it was mentioned that it is possible that green tea bought from a store could have been sitting in a warehouse and the store for a long time. Freshness and hence taste could be weakened by time.
It was suggested to get green tea from a vendor who would send fresh tea, directly to you.
I found an American tea farm ( the only one ) about two mailing days away from me, versus being on the other side of the planet and a plane trip away:

Has anyone tried their green tea? Does it have more taste than what I might get from a local tea shop?
Re: Charleston Tea Plantation. Experiences?
Definitely you´ll get fresher tea buying from the place where it was grown. But buying from a USA plantation by mail vs buying from Japan by mail isn´t going to make much difference... (2 days vs 5)
The tea really isn´t going to go stale in the flight from Japan or China or India
It goes stale when an American shop or wholesaler buys it and stores it poorly for months.
As to Charleston I have no idea...I´ve been a bit curious of it for a long time though.
