I rarely drink from a cup smaller than 8 oz... but I also rarely brew anything strictly gongfu. I am brewing oolong today in a small yixing, so I've been using a smallish 3-4 oz cup. For my usual menu of Darjeelings, blacks, and Sencha, I prefer a larger cuppa. My big Sansai tebineri Hagi is my most beloved and most often used drinking vessel.

I've tried that recently and it does work very well. Since it's good for matcha, why not sencha? It gives some of my chawans a bit more use than they might otherwise receive.

I do this too and love it. :)

I'm still working out my favorite cups and sizes. I usually don't have a lot of time to put towards tea ceremony, so I prefer to have larger cups that I can move around with me. Also because of time, I prefer to brew a large amount of tea at once and put it in a fairly large cup or mug as opposed to smaller. :?
