Wow, thanks everybody for sharing the details of some of your TeaStupid stories! Makes for fun reading and helping us to learn a little bit more about each other.

Yeah, you should see our display shelves, actually looks similar to a shop that sells teas and teawarz!

We both have a bit of creativity where displays are concerned and we often vie for spots to display our TeaRelated Possessions! The mod usually wins, or at least I allow him to 'think he wins.'

Those large tetsubins are very nice to behold however.

First time I heard someone say "Bao C(J)hong" I made him repeat it 50 times and finally spell it. My brain is still not 100% on not reading the ZH sound with Romance phonetics.

Tea Today - some days, you have to turn it to 11. Started with 'kung fu' high fire anxi, finished with da hong pao.

I've chipped a few cups, broke the lid to a Yixing, but nothing too major. Also, the first time I brewed Sencha, I used boiling water...

2nd round of TGY grade 5 today. First tea in 3 days.

Yep, buying too many teas and samples and opening too many -- definitely a learning process!!

Had a nice cuppa' Black Dragon Pearls, along with a piece of toast slathered in lemon curd!!! Taste of childhood!!

So driving off with tea on the roof af the car has now happened at least 3 times that I can recall in 12 years ... This last time on Sunday, I had a pitcher with a Chinese cup on top over the opening ... how I usually carry for the road this set up around.

Amazingly it did not topple over or simply slide off the roof. I stopped after hearing it slide a little bit after driving a few hundred yards.

Hasn't anybody else done this???

Also, the first time I brewed Sencha, I used boiling water...

Similarly, I got the one BIG tetsubin from SpecialTeas as a complete noob and was so excited to brew up some sencha for the first time.

Figured I needed enough for around 32 ounces of hot water ... talk about a waste of tea leaf. And proceeded to brew it up in that tiny basket which seemed to barely touch the water.

Anyway, the brew was not too bad and so my sencha quest began.

And yes C, I have on a couple of occasions set my favorite travel setup on the roof of my car, then driven away.
I've also broken a few gaiwan parts as well as the lid to an expensive tokoname pot (Ringo Tsumami Ushirote).
Sigh.
Btw, I've been hanging on to the ringo in hopes of either repair or finding a lid somehow.

Just finished some 1st flush Darjeeling (after matcha of course!).

Oh I am into tea for some months yet.
A stupid thing was believing what was written on the loose leave Pu-Erh package. "Boiling water - steep for 2 minutes" - puhhhhhh - was like eating mud Luckily I am on teachat and so I didn't abandon the idea of drinking any more Pu-Erh in my life.

Oh and I spilled my Gyokuro all over my desk and floor.

And I emptied my beloved Kyusu - turning it upside down - giving a little shake to get the leaves out into the compost bucket - and "kloink" - arghhhhh - broke the handle.

My tea-evening gave me some Chilwa Needles white tea from NBT. And some "milk-Oolong" - no idea what kind.

Yesterday I smashed the lid of my only teapot into 6 pieces. That's my 3rd breakage in about 2 months! Not counting a few drops and lucky catches.

I resolve not to acquire any expensive teaware until my breaking habits improve.

Bummer, I have made great catches semi often which are usually feline induced.

I have also hacky sacked successfully several times. Though if I tred this with some of the much heavier Hagi, I might break instead.

Great TD began with Sencha Premier from Adagio with the Mrs. Next up a retasting of a newer sencha.

Bit of a dreary day here, light drizzle on and off. But I made the most of it with a nice Monday afternoon outing with DH. We saw RED, it was pretty good, loved Helen Mirren. Bruce Willis looked pretty good and Karl Urban wasn't bad either! Then lunch at the Market Broiler for some fresh catfish. Now I'm settling in with a nice cup of #3 oolong from the OTTI and catching up with you all on TC.

Have been drinking kiri no mori matcha today...the can is getting close to empty.

I've done one or two TeaStupids. One would be drinking a cup of coffee and then gulping down a bunch of green tea afterwards. Yucko taste combination. Another would be mistaking "Holy Basil" for basil. They are not the same thing. At all. In any regard.

Currently drinking some jasmine sencha. Had a lot of lapsang souchong this afternoon.

A few too-many ounce purchases of teas that I should have been wary of disliking.....a larger teapot or two....and a whole bunch of fortunately mostly cheap teaware swept, knocked, bumped, upset, and occasionally just smacked into smithereens, without even a decent tale of woe to share out of all of that.

Two dark oolongs today--a thermos of red-label SeaDyke Ti Kuan Yin, and a gongfu session with some Da Wu Ye from Camellia Sinensis. Also shared some spicy-sweet Tai Ping Hou Kui with a colleague.
