Green Tea Origin Percentages

I am curious what everyone's percentages are for various origins of green tea.

Please vote what your top dog is percentage wise.

Then post/share percentages for each applicable nationality. This should of course add up to 100%.

90+% Japanese and the rest Chinese

have a definite preference for Japanese style green tea...have not had many good Chinese greens but they seem to be very delicate and mild...I like the stronger flavours of sencha and matcha.

Oops, forgot Korean in the poll!!!

Japanese 84%
Chinese 10%
Korean 2%
Taiwanese 2%
All others 2%

I could easily see some changes because I do like green teas from each of the origins. Japanese greens are just a slam dunk for me right now. Always delicious, all the time.

Yes you did, but in the end it doesn't change my vote, but korean would be Second, then Chinese. It is just to hard to have access to a large variety of Korean Greens in the States (probably most of the America's and any countries considered "Western" too).

60/40 Chinese to Japanese.

The sencha requires a more careful brewing, harder to do at work. So brewed less often.

I'd say at this point that my percentages are 90% chinese and 10% japanese. Of course after you do the Korean, sencha and gyokuro OTTIs the percentages could shift.

98% (in value) Japanese . I only buy about 100-150g of Chinese greens when the new harvest teas arrive.

Pretty good idea actually. I could see ordering around 50 grams of my fave 4 Chinese teas which all come out in the Spring.
