Todays lesson is not very clear for me. Is it about collecting TD topics? Or is it that the first one gives a topic and all others answer it?

I can think of a lot of TD questions. Perhaps we could collect some for Chip as inspiration for more great TDs :)

glaze or clay:
For me some teas need glass to enjoy the colour. But in fact a glass faircup does the job. :)
The most practical pot is a Gaiwan - It is made for everything and easy to use and I am lazy :)
For Sencha I use my unglazed Tokoname Kyusu - I love it. (did not try other clays so far)
For Gyokuro I use my Shiboridashi - it is glazed.
My two Yixing pots do an improvement to the tea - I recognize something. But they are not as practical as the Gaiwan.
What I need is to improve my water with a cast iron pot I think.

@Jasmin:
I think the right utensils improve the joy of your teasession.
But I don't think I need the right ones for everything. (Oh a
Samovar will not be the right item for me :) )
And for instance I don't like Western porcelain.
So take what you like.

@Twopynts:
Sometimes in a cold winter night a little Jagertee. (cool the same word in English :D ) - dirty enough?

You can discuss topics that have been mentioned, that was the goal. Three very good topics were already started. :idea:

However, please do start a collection of topics for me! I would be most appreciative! :mrgreen:

Being a mostly black tea drinker, I don't really give a *@&*(#@ about what I boil my water in, brew the tea in, or drink it out of. :twisted: :lol: :wink: Our city water is good, and I also use a Pur filter on the faucet.

Came home from voting and had a nice cuppa' Imperial Red. Only have about enough left for two more pots. Will certainly be one that I will refill. :)

Sorry, I'm awful at coming up with conversation topics. >.< I'm really in awe of anyone who can come up with one, even more so anyone who can come up with many. :shock:

Rose congou this afternoon, currently drinking ginger tea. And for some reason, ginger tea gives me hiccups. Odd.

Have been using quite a lot of unglazed clay lately...tokoname for brewing sencha. :mrgreen:

Teaday today was Oku Yutaka sencha from O-cha...nice buttery veggies taste...plus some seaweed. :)

Yea... I got nothin. I'm terrible at coming up with topics, and tip my hat to Chip who does so 6 days a week!

Yunnan Noir all day at work. Finally settling in to new house, and things are getting back to normal. Things are semi-unpacked which makes for fun mornings of "where's my coat" and "I can only find one pair of work-appropriate shoes/pants/etc." But I've now found (I think) all of the tea and teaware - only loss was a small chip in one of my gaiwan, but still very useable!

It's still Tuesday here, and here's a pathetic excuse for a tea topic: how many of your favorite teas were discovered after buying them on a whim, rather than from suggestions/referrals from other tea lovers, online or print tea-resources?

Drinking teas brewed in plastic kamjove thingie (honey iris phoenix oolong from wing hop fung) and glazed gaiwans (long jing and wuliang shan loose sheng mao cha) today, and probably drink 2:1 or more from glass, glazed, or kamjove brewed teas vs unglazed kyusus or 'yixing'-type pots.
