No, I'm referring to the specific cultivar of oolong called Jade #13 cultivar. Jin Xuan is #12 cultivar. Big difference in the taste/scent of these two oolongs to me.
Back to the topic at hand, I agree that any tea can be weak or strong depending on how you brew it. White teas do tend to taste weaker to me than other types. The strongest I've had is Pu Erh.

Ok, who snaked the last of the white meat turkey? Bummer.
Dong Ding from Camellia Sinensis in my cup this afternoon.

Sorry. I stand corrected about the cultivars. I, however, maintain that Jin Xuan is generally bad.rhondabee wrote:No, I'm referring to the specific cultivar of oolong called Jade #13 cultivar. Jin Xuan is #12 cultivar. Big difference in the taste/scent of these two oolongs to me.

I always felt many whites were sublime, which is a nice way to say weak.
And blacks strong ... though I could add Japanese greens to this.
Began the TD with a new bag of organic Oku Yutaka from O-Cha with the Mrs. It was a relief to have sencha again!
Next up, sencha substitute.
And Master's Pouching this evening.
A great TeaDay.

Such a fun topic this weekend
I wanted to add a little more about my choices. I don't drink black tea very often but when I do, I brew with a short steep time so its weaker.
On the other hand sometimes I brew yancha for longer steep times and make it much stronger than it normally is so I think of that as being my strongest tea.
When I began making white tea I had no idea what I was doing and infused large amounts of leaf for like 5-7minutes
Their are just so many variables in tea.
I made some more DHP for breakfast and then decided to make some green tea chai.

I didn't vote, I haven't had a weak tea unless it was old or cheap.

I consider the weakest tea to be white tea, as far as caffeine, and the strongest to be pu-erh (at least the way I make it-- it looks just like coffee).
Chrysanthemum pu-erh this morning; a lemon-ginger tisane this afternoon; currently drinking a medicinal herbal tea that I find horribly nasty-tasting but effective.

I don't equate particular teas with weak or strong, but certain infusions may be weaker or stronger than is desireable.
Today, some Maiko asamushi sencha from the OTTI #7, and now working on a nice gongfu cha session with some white bud sheng from Norbu.

Many teas taste strong to me; they can be weak, too, I guess. Not really sure how to categorize 'em.
Lots of tea last week, though I didn't visit TeaChat very much.
