In many storage locations of Black Tea production, such as those in Yunnan for Puer and Guangxi for Liu Bao, spiders are the most effective natural pest control. For this reason, spiders are welcome in those environments and evidence of spiders such as webs or egg cases are not in any way negative. In fact connoisseurs of true aged tea would like to see this kind of evidence on or around aged black tea and as an indicator of its authentic storage.
