Holiday price increase?
My girlfriend tried the 7581 brick that i ordered a week ago and really liked it so she asked me to order one for her on my next order. I figured its an excuse for me to get a couple more for myself since i drink tea all day during rainy season. I go to the website today and find out that the price has jumped $4 in 10 days.
Being that i don't celebrate Christmas or any other winter holiday i didn't even think about possible price increases during this time. Should i expect the prices to be going up everywhere for US vendors?

Re: Holiday price increase?
I would imagine vendors would increase their prices for two main reasons.
First, an item is popular and getting low on stock.
Second, vendors will taste their tea from time to time, and change the price accordingly. Almost always up. Often way up. If you look at the price of older tea, and extrapolate back to "first year price," you'll find that pu'erh usually goes up anywhere from 20-30% in price each year.
Maybe you ran across a yearly adjustment of price?

Lightning fast response from Jim letting me know that the prices are definitely going up. Not happy to see prices going up but that's the nature of supply and demand.
I'm starting to see how easy it is to want to buy more of something you like before price gets to high.

HouDe doesn't serve your needs (no decent cheap shu), but what I've always loved about that place is that they've had just one, quite famous, general price rise. All the other times have been restock rises.
