Good TeaDay my good TeaFriends! Won't you kindly stop in to TeaDay and share what is in your cup throughout the day?
This past weekend we discussed holiday traditions. You can still vote and discuss the weekends topic.
Today's TeaPoll and discussion topic. The weather outside is frightful ... but perhaps a new tea is quite TeaLightful? Has a recent aquisition proven to be a delight for you? Please share.
I am looking forward to sharing this TeaDay with everyone, bottoms up.

Yes, my new yunomi from Shyrabbit is really awesome! In fact, I just used it to drink some of Nada's 1980's WangZi loose Shengpu. Still being lazy with those photos...

Not really frightful - don't you think?
Took only some samples home and still waiting for my very own Christmas present from me
- Hope there is something delightful in there.
A sunny day to everyone.

Marco is that your house
If so thats such a beautiful view you have. Ohio weather is terrible. It snows for a day, then melts and freezes over night, so the roads are icy instead of snowy for most of the winter.
On the bright side I did find a new tea over winter break that I like a lot. Oriental beauty from floating leaves tea. I recieved it as a sample in 09 and forgot about it. I don't know if this tea ages well or has gotten worse but either way its delicious. I think it tastes like a silver needle but with some malty notes to it.
Speaking of silver needles
I'm having Bai Hao Yin Zhen today.

Very cool Marco! Do you climb the mountains? It is hard to get scale, how high are the mountains around there? I think I would be a rock climber if I lived there.
How high is the elevation where you live?
There are some new Japanese teas and vendors that I recently discovered (or simply have not gotten around to) that are on the radar. It is always exciting to try new vendors and teas, right? Though new is not always better.

Yes, that's an incredible view.
We are getting socked in Boston. We have almost two feet of snow and most of it is wet and heavy. I'm enjoying the last of my Yixing red from The Mandarin in between bouts with the snow blower.
Most pleasant recent Tea Surprise is Emperor's Puzzle shui xian from Red Circle -- mouth-filling tea with lots of interesting flavors filling out its roasty structure.

In my cup this morning, Zao Xiang (Date Fragrance) Loose Puer 2008 from Seven Cups. I was putting together an order of green teas and added this on a whim - I loved the description, and it was only $10.90 for 50 grams so it was an experiment with little risk. The flavor is wonderful, with a slight tinge of properly, not overly, burnt sugar. The only issue is that it can be steeped so many times that I'm busy for quite some time in the morning steeping and sipping, steeping and sipping, etc. Not a tea for someone in a hurry.
I may just stock up on this tea - my first puer purchase.

If you think away the roofs in the background then it is the view of my childhood - far less houses back then. It's todays view from my parents veranda.brad4419 wrote:Marco is that your houseIf so thats such a beautiful view you have.
I am not a mountain climber - but I love hiking and being up there.Chip wrote:Very cool Marco! Do you climb the mountains? It is hard to get scale, how high are the mountains around there? I think I would be a rock climber if I lived there.

I am on 555m in the moment

The highest mountain in my region has 3.312m
The one you see here is about 2.000m high.
In my cup today "Antlers d'Amour" from NbT. It says a white tea but it is made of stems.

Here in my part of the PNW, it is sunny and windy, which is a switch from the almost complete week of freezing fog we just finished.
Keemun Encore in my cup this morning, and it is rather TeaLightful.

Actually, my newest blend "Darkest Night" is the perfect tea to combat the chilly weather. I was pleasantly surprised.
That is what is in my cup today. Keep warm!

Improv TD, virtually out of Japanese greens, so a 3 ounce session of Sencha 7132 organic this AM with the Mrs. Next up, some dribs and drabs of sencha ... it was OK.

Only made time for one tea today, and that was a Keemum which I thoroughly enjoyed.
