So, I was super lucky on Christmas and received the Master's Collection sampler, among many other teas
But one thing confused me... the Fujian Jasmine Pearls were labeled 'green tea' on the tin, but when I went to the Adagio site and clicked on the Masters Collection, I ran my cursor over the pearls and it says "oolong from Taiwan."
I'm a bit confused.... is it green tea or oolong??
thanks!

The Jasmine Phoenix Pearls (#12) and other jasmines are in the Green tea section, so I would be inclined to the the Fujians are green as well. I agree though, confusing.

My understanding is that most jasmine pearls start out as green tea but after a number of scenting sessions the base tea become pouchong, which is more like a mild oolong than a true green. Still delicious - enjoy the gift.

+1. It is not a new argument in general either ...

Awesome, thanks so much guys!
I guess I'll just experiment with the brewing temps and times and see what I like best. I'd never heard of Pouchong before, very interesting.
